The 45,000-square-foot Caldwell County Community and Evacuation Center officially opened. The $22 million facility provides emergency shelter for up to 360 people during disasters and functions as an event venue accommodating 600+ guests.
The Caldwell County Community and Evacuation Center officially opened on May 22, 2026, at 2947 N. Magnolia Avenue in Luling.
The 45,000-square-foot, $22 million facility was funded primarily through Texas General Land Office (GLO) grants and sits on 20 acres. During disasters it provides emergency shelter for up to 360 people; during normal operations it serves as an event venue accommodating 600+ guests.
