The Caldwell County Justice Center at 1703 S. Colorado Street in Lockhart is home to the district courts, the County Court at Law, the County and District Clerks, the District Attorney, and Adult Probation. Justice of the Peace courts sit in each of the county's four precincts. Justice Center offices are closed from noon to 1:00 p.m. daily.

Justice of the Peace courts
Four Justice of the Peace courts serve Caldwell County — one per commissioner precinct. They handle Class C misdemeanor citations, small claims and debt claims up to $20,000, evictions, and occupational driver's license petitions. All pleas must be submitted in writing — a phone call does not count as a court appearance.

Jury summons for the district courts are managed by the District Clerk.
