Operates heavy equipment (motor grader, dump truck, backhoe, etc.) to maintain Caldwell County's 600+ miles of roadway.
About this position
The Road & Bridge Department maintains all county-maintained roads in Caldwell County. Operators are assigned to one of four precincts.
Responsibilities
• Operate motor graders, dump trucks, backhoes, front-end loaders
• Patch potholes, grade dirt roads, install culverts
• Perform routine equipment maintenance
• Assist with disaster response (flooding, debris removal)
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Texas CDL Class A or B with no major violations
• 2+ years operating heavy construction equipment
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors
• Pass DOT physical and drug screen
